Classic Trekking Choquequirao to Machu Picchu 7 Days and 6 Nights
The Complete Coquequirao to Machu Picchu trek, begins and ends in Cusco city. We will collect our clients from their hotel in Cusco city and bring them to CasaNostra Hostel. They will return to Cusco by train after they have completed the Choquequirao to Machu Picchu trekking. On the Complete Choquequirao to Machu Picchu trekking, you will be accompanied by a professional English and Spanish speaking guide. The trek includes one night in CasaNostra Hostel with dinner, a pisco sour and a buffet breakfast. Also included are the entry tickets to Machu Picchu (no Huayna Picchu), a night in the Aguas Calientes Hotel and the train ticket from Aguas Calientes back to Cusco.
Classic Trekking Choquequirao to Machu Picchu 7 Days and 6 Nights
With the Imperial trekking we offer the hiker a unique 7-day adventure trek between jungle and mountains, from the holy city of Choquequirao to the lost city of Machu Picchu. This road was one of the most important and the Inca Empire being trafficked through Choquequirao, an access point to the Vilcabamba valley and jungle. The entrance is by the route of Cachora; We visit the Inca ruins of Choquequirao and continue our trek through Maizal and then to Yanama.
From Yanama we will take a car to Santa Teresa and from Santa Teresa a train to Aguas Calientes.
The ticket to Machupichu and the train from Aguas Calientes to Cusco are included in the price of trekking.
ATTENTION: Tour CasaNostra includes one night in the hostel.
Clients will be collected at 13:00hr from their hotel in Cusco by a private car. We will arrive to CasaNostra Hotel at approximately 17:00hr.
The first night in CasaNostra hostel our clients can relax and enjoy the scenery with their free pisco sour and dinner cooked by CasaNostras Italian owner Matteo.
Day 1: Cachora – Capuliyoc – Chiquiska
Continental breakfast at the restaurant in Casanostra and then we begin the Choquequirao Trek. First we will go to the viewpoint of Capuliyoc. This will be an easy walk of about two hours.
From Capuliyoc we can appreciate the Apurimac canyon with its evocative landscapes and in the distance we can see the Inca ruins of Choquequirao. Then we descend to Chiquiska where we have our first camp.
Day 2: Chiquiska – Playa Rosalina – Marampata
From Chiquiska we head to Playa Rosalina, where we will cross the new bridge over the river Apurimas (Speaking God in Quechua).
Then we have a steep climb to Marampata through Santa Rosa, it will take us between 5 and 6 hours.
Day 3: Visit to Choquequirao
From Marampata we have an hour and a half walk to reach the archaeological site of Choquequirao. We spend the day visiting the Inca ruins in its entirety, also reaching the Terraces of the Flame on the west side of the complex.
Day 4: Choquequirao – Pinchaunuyoc – Maizal
From Choquequirao we walk an hour to the pass called Puerto Choquequirao or Open Choquequirao (3350m). Then we walk down to reach the archeological site Pinchaunuyoc (2200 m) where you can admire some houses and terraces that the Incas used for growing coca, coffee and yuca. We then descend to Rio Blanco (1450 m) In Rio Blanco, it’s possible take some time and enjoy a swim in the calm river.
After crossing the river, we climb up to Maizal (3000m) where we will camp.
Day 5: Maizal – Victoria Pass – Yanama
From Maizal, we continue climbing up to the old Victoria mine, a metallic bronze, copper and gold mine that today turns out to be obsolete.
After the Victoria mine we will cross the Victoria Pass (4160 m) and then descend for two hours where we will make our camp in Yanama.
Day 6: Yanama –Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes
In Yanama we say goodbye to mules and horsemen and take a car to Santa Teresa. During the car trip you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of the surrounding snow covered mountains. From Santa Teresa we will take a train to Aguas Calientes. In Aguas Calientes we will check into the hotel where dinner, a comfortable bed and breakfast will be provided
Day 7: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
After breakfast we will begin the guided tour of the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu.
Once the tour is finished, you will board the return train to Cusco.
